Admission

The Powerstation is a General Admission (GA) venue.  This means audience is mostly standing, although very limited seating can be found both upstairs and downstairs.

Wheelchair Access

The Powerstation is wheelchair accessible, although we do not have allocated seating specifically for wheelchair users. Our security staff will find a place for you within the venue with a good view - please arrive early and speak to security upon arrival, so that we can secure the best vantage point for you.

Age Restrictions

Unless stated otherwise, all Powerstation shows are R18. Those who are underage will not be able to attend shows, even if a legal parent or guardian is present. This is a licensed venue and valid ID will be required. Valid forms of ID are: any current passport, a current New Zealand driver's licence or a HNZ 18+ card. If you do not have ID you will be refused entry.

All Ages Shows

For shows that are both Licensed R18 & All Ages the venue will have two very separate & well monitored areas.

Downstairs will be fully licensed R18 & the upstairs area of the venue will be unlicensed All Ages and totally alcohol free.

No alcohol can be taken into the unlicensed area.

Patrons who are under 18 will be restricted to the unlicensed area upstairs. Patrons over 18 can enter the unlicensed/alcohol free area.

Suitably qualified venue personnel will be in place to administer the people entering & exiting these licensed & unlincensed areas.

PLEASE NOTE: Ticket holders under 15 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Tickets

Tickets are available through either AAA Ticketing or Ticketmaster – please check all information for each individual show, accessed on the Coming Shows page.

If you purchase through Ticketmaster online and have selected venue pick-up as your delivery method, your tickets can be picked up on the night of the event only, from the Powerstation main doors.  This service will be available from the time doors open only.

Buying Tickets for Events at Powerstation

Recent months have seen a large number of tickets that have been purchased with stolen credit cards in both Australia and New Zealand resold through third-party sellers online. Reports have also surfaced through news media about punters buying fraudulent or misrepresented tickets through these third-party sellers. A couple of examples can be found below.

AAA Ticketing and Ticketmaster are the official ticketing agents for the Powerstation.

We cannot guarantee that tickets bought from any other source will be valid and grant you access to an event.

When buying tickets for a show at the Powerstation, we recommend first checking ticket availability on AAA Ticketing / Ticketmaster and purchasing through these official ticketing agents.

If you do decide to buy tickets through a third-party seller such as Viagogo, Queen of Tickets, online auction sites etc, we recommend you take the following steps to ensure you know what you are buying:

  1. Contact the seller to ensure the ticket you are purchasing is valid and as described.
  2. Contact the original (official) ticketing agent to request the ticket transferred to your name and email address / account.

If you have any concerns about a ticket you have already purchased, please contact the original ticketing agent (i.e. Ticketmaster / AAA Ticketing).
