After his sold-out debut NZ show last year, guitar-based pop artist GRENTPEREZ today announces his return to Aotearoa with his ‘growing up?’ world tour this December.

The 21-year old musician will visit Auckland’s Powerstation on Saturday December 16. Grentperez’s Auckland-show is open to fans of all ages.

Australian musician grentperez is unapologetically a Gen-Z artist with an old soul. Having first found his audience on YouTube singing a mix of covers and original songs, grentperez’s rise from viral performer to bedroom pop star was a quick one. At just 12 years old he posted his first video to YouTube and, over time, reached over 100 million views and 600k subscribers. After honing his songwriting chops, his undeniable hit debut single “Cherry Wine” became an international sensation, hitting #1 on Spotify’s Viral Chart in AUS/NZ, Canada and Singapore. He’s since blossomed into an unassuming and unpretentious artist inspired by the music played at Filipino family karaoke parties, as well as vintage bossa nova and modern R&B.

The tour announcement comes after the release of grentperez’s brand new ‘When We Were Younger’ EP. Centred around the concept of nostalgia and motivated by grentperez’s desire to embrace the carefree creativity of childhood, the EP fuses a wide variety of nostalgic sounds: from his beloved bossa nova to sprightly Philadelphia soul, the swelling strings of golden-era Hollywood, and even the vibe of 90’s rom-coms.

With over 250 million streams to his name, a global touring resume, and notable support from tastemakers including Triple J, NPR Music, MTV and The Line of Best Fit, grentperez is on the precipice of something big.
