The Gluepot Reunion

The Gluepot Reunion

Dave Dobbyn, a gentleman who needs no introduction, has been confirmed to join Hello Sailor for their Gluepot Reunion shows at The Powerstation, Auckland in November.

Harry Lyon, founder Hello Sailor member said today that as well as Dave Dobbyn, his son Johnny Lyon and Dave McArtney’s Sydney based nephew Tim will play guitar and sing with the band, filling the enormous gap left by Dave McArtney. “We are still coming to terms with the loss of Dave but rapt to have DD and the boys on board. We know he would want us to carry on and would love these guys being our guests.”

Last year saw the first ever Gluepot Reunion, which was held at The Powerstation, another legendary venue which was probably known as the Galaxy back then. Anyway hundreds came out of the woodwork to sell out 2 nights. They were glorious shows, ably hosted by Kevin Black (RIP). It’s hard to know who had more fun, the bands or the punters but there was a definite Gluepot spirit in the room.

We had so much fun we are doing it again. On Friday November 1 The Powerstation will become The Gluepot for the night with The Gluepot SuperGroup*, The Exponents & Hello Sailor gracing the stage.

The Exponents are back with new found vigour! Their line-up for this gig is the classic Jordan Luck, Brian Jones, David Gent, Michael “Harry” Harallambi and Bryan Bell in itself a rare attraction.

Barry Jenkin, or Doctor Rock who may be NZ’s most listened to Rock DJ, once commanding an on air audience of 53%, will be MC for this evening - that alone is a rare attraction.

The Gluepot Supergroup is made up of a stage bitten, gritty, gnarly, beautiful bunch being...

Male Vocals: Hammond Gamble, Larry Morris, Rick Bryant, Neil Edwards

Female Vocals: Truda Chadwick, Mahia Blackmore, Sandy Mill

Band: Saxophone -Walter Bianco, Keyboards - Peter Wood, Drums - Dennis Ryan

Bass - Alex Griffiths, Guitar- Grant Ryan

There you have it, you really have to be there.
